My F350 has a problem with the shifter arm or ? It has been to the stealer 3 times and they don't seem to know what to do. Sometimes when I put it in park it doesn't really go in. It just looks like it and the truck rolls. Sometimes it does not start in park. Sometimes when I put it in drive it is really in drive 2. It is very hard to get it into reverse.
The cable is new. I don't believe there are any adjustments underneath. There must be a problem in the steering column somewhere I would think. The truck has 75k. No mods, just stock. Does anybody have any ideas? Thanks for any help.
Look at where the lever connects to the column. You have to kind of lay in an awkward position to look up at it, but I believe there are 2 torx head screws that you can tighten up. They've been known to work their way loose.
Thanks for the reply. Is there anything in there that is adjustable? Or can the arm be bad? What is the connection between the arm I move and the little needle I see in the dash?
it can be adjusted..just cant remember if it was under the column or by the trans... the top part of this link is for key..half way down is for the shifter...not sure if it will help you or not...but if them screws Chris is talking about are loose..im sure that will fix it..many guy's here found this to be the trouble...
