Ok so we have a 2010 F150 4x4 Lariat 5.4L with the 508A package (not sure if it makes a difference) super crew 5.5 bed with the shifter on floor and back up camera in the ford emblem.
The dealership already knows about this and are going to fix it however I want some of y'alls opinion on this.
When you put the truck into reverse it has the back up camera in the rear view mirror come on no problems sometimes but other times it will go whiteish gray colored and static sometimes unless you either tap the shifter (only sometimes helps) or put it in park then reverse again.
The dealership says it is the mirror itself but I am thinking it is in the shifter. The dealership only had the truck a couple days before they sold it so I don't think they were able to diagnose it well. Before I take the truck back to fix the seat I would like some opinions on what you think so I can tell the dealership.

I'm glad your dealership is addressing this, Trav. What's the current mileage on your truck? I'll see what I can do to assist.
Did you ever get your backup camera fixed? mine is doing the same thing.
What's your truck's model year and mileage, okie72? I'll see what I can do to help your camera see clearly again.

Is there a different dealership you'd prefer to work with, Trav? You can find some alternate options by entering your ZIP code here: Ford Dealers | Locate a Ford Dealer Near You | Ford.com When you choose one, send a PM my way and I'll escalate this to your regional customer service manager. In your message, please include your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, current mileage, and servicing dealership info.
No I am instead probably going to set it up on a bigger screen with navigation externally. It really is a little to small to begin with. Besides that we have yet to use it being I don't really use luxuries that often.
Thanks for the offer though.

My truck is a 2010 F150 King Ranch 4x4 with 112000 miles on it. I bought it used about a month ago and of course the backup camera worked fine until I got it home. I have pulled the plug apart to remove the tailgate and sprayed electronic cleaner in it made no difference. I also used splice connectors and spliced new wires around the tailgate plug and it made no improvement so I don't think the problem is in the tailgate plug but I really don't know what else to look at. The truck also has backup sensors and they work fine no problem with them. Any help would be very much appreciated.
