I guess the title says it, I passed by one today (luckily in the United Rentals truck) but I saw a big old Ecoline and some car gettin the whole 9 yards.
I think they are a good idea to keep junk off the road. I personally would like to see a mandatory inspection on private vehicles just like they do on commercial ones.
I dunno I can kinda see why they do them. I agree with warren, every year they should do an inspection on a vehicle before it gets plates on it. If she dont pass, shes aint going on the road legally. I actually have no idea why they dont do that on pass vehicles.
It can get way out of hand as in when an other wise fairly rust free truck gets pulled off the road because of minor rust over the rear fenders only (in the box) and the reason was ''you may have exhaust fumes enter the cab/passenger compartment''...............
Lack of common sense and proper training training you might say.As stupid as this sounds I am not making this up, this did actually happen to my neighbour last fall.
