A few questions.

What is that little thing circles there. Its leaking fuel and i need to get it replaced but no one seems to know what it is. lol.

Also i got my tranny rebuilt and i feel its running really hot and hard. Its running at around 180 just driving not pulling anything. Is that normal? Is this just cause its all new inside?

Thanks Alot guys
Steve.

I couldn't see the picture real well, and I can't make it any bigger. I think you are looking at a sending unit on the side of the fuel filter housing. I believe it's the one for indicating water in the fuel, but I'm not sure of that. As for the transmission temp, 180 isn't out of line. Maybe a little warm. A good rule of thumb is take the outside temp and add 100 degrees and that what your tranny should run at. 220 would be reason for concern, 250 and you need to pull over and let it cool.

I too can't see it very well but think it looks like the fuel filter canister vacuum switch. That would be the top most, "driver side" electrical connector on the fuel filter container, best guess .

I enlarged the picture but it pixelates a lot but I think those who have said the fuel filter restriction sensor are right. Here is the part number
E8TZ-9S283-A

1/8 inch pipe plug works too just won't sense a plugged filter

well by the picture that tj posted its the fuel filter restriction gauge but i called ford and they dont know of a part named by that. so i think ill just have to take it up there and they can find a good name for it. lol. I also think that that part has a good reason of why my old tranny went out and why my new one is running hot. The restriction gauge is leaking diesel down the back of the block and down on my tranny witch its heating up and making more heat of on my tranny. The old tranny went out cause of heat damage to parts. I hit 220 degrees today and pulled over and looked. The diesel on the tranny was smoking. Is this a good possible reason? Thanks again guys

use the part number in my post. that should get you the right part from Ford. This will have no affect on your tranny. None what so ever.
