What gears do I have?
I also know that a lot of the E4OD problems were from people that wanted car shifting from a truck transmission.
Caused problems even when used as a car, downright headaches when used as a truck.
A shift kit and control module upgrade fixed a lot of the excessive slippage and reduced the tranny heat, all good things.
Also not sure if it has 2 or 3 OD clutches, I would like to know whats in it. I have built a few E40d's and clutches were smoked in all of them...If you upgrade a few things to PSD spec it adds some clutches. Makes it spread the load

If you built a few E4ODs, than you should be able to have your peace of mind if you go through the transmission yourself. Thats the only way to know for sure if it is sound. Chances are that most of the factory upgrades were done when the new transmission was built (most after 1995 are good), but the shift firmness is still set for the stock power output of the engine. Adding a turbo means it will slip more when you use the extra power/torque.
