It's not quite like the vin # , it can be somewhat decoded but it won't tell you the engine size. From what I remember the 1st two represent the year. D = 1970 and 1 stands for 1st year or 1971 when the block was cast.
You would have to check your vin # and see if it was a 240 or a 300. It can't find my book to see when was the last year they put a 240 in a truck.

Last year for the 240 = 1974 (cars: 1972).
240 = the stroke is 3.18" / 300 = the stroke is 3.98"
Both have a 4.00" bore.
btw: D1AE-80T5-CA should read: D1AE-6015-CA
6015 represents the Ford basic casting number for most all the bare blocks.
