Welcome to FTE. How old is your fluid? Maybe you're due for a change. The additive is called a friction modifier. I believe the book calls for 8 oz. but most start off by adding 4 oz. then more if needed. Too much friction modifier tends to make the LS not work too well.
Some fluids like Royal Purple already have the modifier built in so if you switch to one of those you will not need to add any.

Like Chris said, you might be due for a lube change.
The chattering won't hurt anything...it's just a little reminder that your LS is working.
Too much friction modifier, and your LS won't function like it's supposed to.
