Dirty Sock Smell
'01 Lariat 4X4.
Weather has gotten warm enough the last couple of days to use A/C.
I have noticed that part of the time it will smell like a dirty sock, then goes away for a while.
Any ideas on this? My shoes are on.

A couple of things, always leave the dial on Vent when you turn the truck off. Second turn it to vent for the last few minutes you are in the truck while the AC was running. These things will keep the system drier. If it has bad bacteria/fungus you need to buy one of those spray cans that are suppose to kill everything in the system. I can't remember the name but it is an AC cleaner in an aerosol can. I am sure someone knows the name.

I had a stale smell in mine when it hit warm weather here in Bama. I cranked the truck. Sprayed Frebreeze down towards the floor and then turned the A/C on full blast and let it run for about 20 minutes. After about 10 minutes and went and repeated the spraying part. LOL Redneckish?? Maybe but it worked. And its been A/C weather for a while around here.
