suck my sock

Fuel pickup filter collapsing? I'm afraid the original "sock" on the end of the fuel pickup tube is beginning to collapse on me at 60+ mph. A few times at 80+, Harrison dies (the motor does not die...appears to be starving....gets plenty of air) - have to let the foot off the gas to let him "recover" where I might be able to limp to about 45 mph or so. At first I thought I had water in the gas, but this does not happen at idle..

I dread dropping the 40 gallon tank this weekend...

Anybody run up on this event?

Thanks,

I had the same thing happen to my van, turned out to be a bunch of dirt in the tank from the evil ex-girlfriend. When you fix it buy a locking gas cap.

Thanks BB, but when I built this ride, I installed a clear fuel filter - it looked okay...but I changed it anyway. I DO have some suspicious neighbors, though....I think their momma dropped them on the side of the road years ago...
