Safe Egt's

I installed a stand alone gauge set from Quadzilla. No tuner. I have the gauge setup showing EGT/Boost/Coolant/Trans readings.

The digital gauge has the ability to set alarms for particular value setings. I currently have the EGT alarm set (the alarm is basically the temperature populates the entire gauge and flashes). I have the value set @ 1050 degrees.

My question is....what is a safe temperature that a 6.0 PSD can run for a short duration without compromosing the motor?

I have reached the temp a few times when I jump on it and have the pedal mashed (getting on the freeway), but I do not continously run it above 1100....I back off.

Thank you

The general consensus around here is 1300* for short bursts.

I have the probe in the LH exhaust manifold. This is obviously considered to be "post turbo" correct?

If the figures are correct, my truck runs very hot????? Is this right?

I'm confused...like always

you can hit alot higher than that if needed. you can hold it at 1250 all day no probs and take it up to like 2k if you doing like a truck pull or something. Not recomending it just saying a second there aint going to hurt it. it takes a while for stuff to melt!!!
