for my truck it was gonna be about $2000 for material and one of my buddies was gonna do it for $1500 if i brought him a rollin body and thats cheap for him he paints custom cars. and that was same color
Wow, all the prices stated here seem really cheap! I had a very good body shop (local) quote me $6000 to do the same color it already is. Now they are VERY reputable. I guess every truck is a little different. Mine is two-tone, and does have the factory pin-striping, and body molding. And obviously more prep time goes into a 4-door rather than a regular cab.
But looking back now, this body shop is pretty ****, they told me they would remove the bed to get the rear of the cab, and remove all the glass to get under the molding strip.
I priced that factory pin-striping from Ford & they quoted me like $200 for the lower and $300 for the upper! Man they are proud of that stuff!
For the cab only on my flatdeck I was quoted $1200 by a local body shop.
I thought that was pretty good as the last truck I had painted cost $3500 to do the whole thing.
No joke. And it usually someone's first post. Sigh. I am standing next to the soap box......I really want to get on it, but I know I shouldn't. (Walks away from soap box, towards the fridge for a glass of tea)
