i ordered the part from powerstrokeshop.com. those are 3" outlets on there right? thats why we need the step down connections if i am understanding this right. the thought crossed my mind to get the aluminum intakes from beans or find a donner SD 7.3 to get the intakes from. im curious to how bennificial it would be

the early 99 should be 2.5 outlets, not 3's. the late 99-03's are 3 inch to 3 inch. the early 99 should be 2.5-2 inch

Yep, you are almost right, I was thinking about the diameter of the new 3" SD 7.3 intakes actually they have to be 2-3/8” to 2” reducer
