Hey all....me again. I've got the truck put back together. Took it for a test spin yesterday. All is good except wipers dont work in any speed and side mirrors not functioning. We made sure while rebuilding this wreck everything got put back and re-checked that so I'm pretty sure that is not it. Since I had 3 different electrical problems(the washer pump is not working either) I figured this about had to be a bad fuse. Only thing is there is no owners manual for this truck. It was gone when I bought it. I checked every fuse I could with my continuity tester and showed all under the dash where good( one was missing so I replaced it-still nothing) I checked the bigger ones under the hood and had a few 30 amps bad(have no idea what the control) so I checked with good ones in and still no wipers or mirros. If anyone knows exactly whitch fuse to check or any info it would be greatly appreciated. If not I will check with my local ford dealer but that will be Wednesday before I can. Would like to have the truck to drive on Monday and Tuesday if possible. And in case of those who dont know me yet the truck is a 2003 f150 super cap Heritage Edition(not heritage) with the two tone paint and interior. It was wrecked when I bought it hence a great deal and I've rebuilt it. Just puttin the finishin touches on the into the paint booth.
thanks, great peice of info. This should be a great help in the future. Dont fix my wipers( fuse is good) but now I know which direction to start. Awesome help.
With the wipers and the mirrors affected, I would think of a GEM module failure. Do the power windows work? Did the interior get wet when it was wrecked? Usually a GEM module goes bad due to a windshield leak. Just food for thought. Good luck and enjoy your new ride.
