I've hit 27-28 with both the WW and Stock Wheel. It seems to be harder to get the higher boost numbers with the WW, though. I remember being able to get over 25 pretty easily with the stock wheel (albeit with surge), but I really have to be in it to get to 27 with the WW. And I've hit 1500+ on my EGTs chasing after a gasser Chevy with Nitrous. Kept up, but we both let off -- I let off because of the EGTs. Not sure why he let off. Probably because we were doing over 120...
ok..after checking evrything I discovered its my uppipes leaking. I had a hell of a time getting them to seat as good as they are. they are leaking at the manifold connection. Oh well im gonna fix tonight so I will let you guys know how it turns out.

I can hit 32-34 psi with the early 99 setup, it has to be the smaller turbo spooling up faster. I can do it but I try not to, my bearing is on the way out. I think I have the only ww that surges, hence the bearing going.
Well...I havent had a chance to drive it yet but I did find that my buddy left the passenger side (where it connects to the collector) bolts very loose. Got that tightened up and hopefully this is my low boost/high EGT's problem. What do you guys think, could that be the cause of this?

Maybe, it's a good place to start. Check all the exhaust bolts while your at it, oh and the clamps. Best to be sure while your there.
Ok fellas....I had to go get milk and OJ this am. tested my truck and it definately runs smoother and has a better sound than what it did since I tightened up the collector(it was very loose). I posted some questions about how the WW sounded like a coaches whistle.... ya know just not a smooth jet engine style whistle. It sounds right now.BUT.....im still only making 20.lbs of boost....about right? should I unplug the wastegate?what gives?
Thx Schlepprock
Ok....I unplugged the wastegate line and plugged it onto a bolt and now I can make 23.lbs of boost....just wanted to post an update. Thx for all the advice and help guys, thats why I love this place!
Jason how are you getting 34psi on an early 99? I can only get between 27-28 0n mine in the 120 setting, but then again my filter is dirty.....
I have no idea, but it's at 30+ PSI right away when I hit it from a stop. I can get 25+ psi easily on the freeway when I get on it at 55-65 MPH. I used to have an edge for gauges and tuner and I never saw anything higher than 26 PSI, but I wasn't fooling the MAP sensor either, so I was defueling at the same time. This is also odd because the edge reads the boost from the pcm and our trucks will defuel at 17-22 PSI stock with out a OBA.
I still can't spin my tires on dry pavement with out braking.
