I'm tired of struggling to turn my 2000 F150 key/ignition on. I have to fight with the steering colum to get it to lock or just rattle it in order for the key to turn. It's like I'm fighting with my truck just to start it. Any one got an idea of how to make it easier to turn? Your help is much appreciated.
I have the same problem not to sound like a blonde or anything but what exactly would you do with the graphite.
That would be graphite grease......spray some in the mechanism (not sure if you would need to take steering colum cover off) and that should loosen up the mechanism if it is just lacking some lube. Are you sure it's not just the wheel locking when you take the key out? Mine gets really hard to unlock and turn the key when it's at full wheel lock and I try to start it up again.

the wheel on mine still turns when I turn it off until I of course turn it trying to get the key to work then it locks. Could it be that the ignition switch is wore out? I just know that it is getting worse than it was before.
Yes it could be worn out. The graphite I was thinking of is the dry powdered stuff. Great for locks. Not sure if I would try the wet stuff. Sometimes the graphite with oil can muck things up. It's your call.
