3 speed transmission

well do you know how there is the C4 and C6, does the 3 speed manual have a C number or not; if it doesn't then what is the number for it?

I dont believe there is a LETTER for it. Ive heard it called a Ford 3 speed. Is it made by Dana? Im not sure...

The Ford 3 speeds are known as the 3.03. I believe they were manufactured by Borg Warner.
They have a 3 digit letter code and a 2 digit suffix. For example
RAT- H3. The tags can usually be found riveted to the case near the bellhousing mounting, on the side.

The for three speed was manufactured by fords T&C division (transmission and chassis) from what I have read. It is essentially just another version of the toploader 4spd with one less gear they are pretty stout units. The 6cyl units had lower 1st gear for cars not sure about trucks.
