Ok, on my 95 f250 4x4 auto, it every so often likes to jump out of gear, to the point where i have to stop, shift the tcase back to low, an then shift back up into 2 hi. Could the auto hubs be causing this? The truck has 212k on it, it was a plow/salt truck and i've allready just replaced the $300 shift thing that bolts to the side of the tranny for the t case lever. While it was broke is when it started, so i assumed going down the road the linkage might of just vibrated right to do it. But now after changin it, it still does it, however it doesn't seem as much, and you can't really predict it. Any help would be appreciated.
Next time it happens come to a stop and crawl under and see if the front driveshaft can be turned by hand. If you can then the t-case has disengaged. More than likely since you have to move the lever again it is the shift lever pads have worn and maybe the shift collar itself in the case.
range selector gear in the transfer case worn and letting it slip out of gear, also will need the plastic bushings on the shift fork unless they have fallen off than you will need the shift fork also, best deal I found for repair parts was riverside gear, although I wasn't happy paying 2 day air freight and having my parts shipped ground.

The doc is 25 pages long otherwise I would. I don't think it would be very useable in webshots right now. You know what.....I am just going to post it. I will give it the title "PSD part Numbers" and we all need to save the link. I will try to get around to that this afternoon. We will see if FTE has a limit on post length!
I am gonna type it out. I don't have anything to dof or the next 3 weeks! Actually working on it now. did you know there is a 30,000 character post limit!! gonna have to do two posts.
