another Toyota box question

has anyone done the Toyota conversion using a manual box instead of power? Would like to hear about the swap.

Someone around here has done it, I don't remember who though. The swap should be the same with the exception of having to have a pump and hoses. I think the physical dimensions of the manual box are the same as the power box

Should be pretty easy.

manual toyot box

Did it in a 53 long bed, all was exactly the same except no pump. Much better than original steering but not "power" Was still hard to steer in parking situations even with smaller width tires. I thought it was still to hard to steer for me personally but I don't have arm strength and am getting ........ well, lets just say "spoiled" and like my rides a little cushy and easy to drive. Easy to install and bolt up but original steering shaft has to be welded to joint and horn is a challenge, manual box needs original big steering wheel I think. Good luck, if this is a clutch give us a call if you need help as the space is limited.
