It's not nesessarlily a bad intake, but there are others that can work better. All depends on the application. If you can get it for a "song & dance", go for it. I wouldn't pay more than $50.00 and that's if it is cleaned up and ready to go like the example below. Let's see what the other guys think....

If your wanting to upgrade to a 4bbl for a truck motor, and cheaply... sure it'll work fine. Very similar to the one I put on mine. Agreed it's worth all of $35.00 dirty and look closely at the intake port edge to assure it hasn't been milled at some point. Also into the port runners to assure it hasn't been jimmied up by some 16yr old race expert. Get your lift belt ready both the 2bbl and this SOB will cost you at least one off spring if you loose your footing
