ok here's where the novice part kicks in....i have everything off that i think needs to come off....but how do you get the shaft out of the hub? the hub has a upper and lower bushing which i don't see or read about being removed...do i need a puller for this? I'm charging up my camera for this one guys...i have a feeling i'm going to be posting a few pics but i'm not afraid.....yet
To make it short and sweet, you grab the end of that shaft and pull hard. Or you can do what I did and pry it out from behind with a prybar against the u-joint.
Please tell me that you marked the caliper dust sheild before you took it off. It will go back on both ways, and if you put it on backasswards you wont know it until you get the hub unit remounted, and try to remount the brake caliper. (don't ask me how I know this)
there is a ring of some sort that holds the shaft in.... this is in the inside of the hub....in the front ...does that come out to be replaced? if so, how does it get removed ? told you i was a novice....btw there's no turning back
thanks i'll give it a try...thanks again for everyones help...all the info and links are awesome..i'm just being careful so as not to do any permanent damage.
