My wife has a 1986 E-150 , fuel injected 302. Will jusdt stop running, especially when the weather is warm (90 degrees). Fuel pump (frame rail) wasn't coming on so I wasted 80.00 replacing it. Sprayed wd-40 on all the underhood connectors. Seemed to fix the problem last year. Drove until yesterday (90 degrees) and it quit again. The fuel pump isn't coming on again. Am about to go check for spark (van is on the side of the road). Is there anything I should check first. What would make the fuel pump not come on?
No spark... Would a bad ignition module let it crank for just a minute and then quit again? Someone said the computer won't let the fuel pump run if there isn't spark. How do I tell where the ignition module is located?
no spark and no fuel...sounds like the module...did that on my 85 T-Bird and a friend's 84 Mercury (whatever the Mustang clone was then). It ran about 80 bucks and need a shallow walled , I think 8mm socket, to get it off. Good Luck..
You posted over a month ago but myself and another have the same problem. See "85 F150 302 w/EFI" and "86 F150 302 w/EFI" on the 1980 -1986 Trucks and Vans BB (top of page). We both tried what has been suggested. $$$ Hundreds later we are still trying! Please share your fix with us! Thanks Bojunk
