A friend of mine has a 87 Mazda B2200. It does not blow heat when the heat is selected, just blows "outside temp" air. also... lately she said it's been indicating that it's overhearing, the truck, other than the sensor, runs fine and does NOT overheat. are these two problems related? Steps to fix hem?
Is it actually overheating or running hot? My truck gets to the top line on the gauge, I suspect that the thermostat on my truck needs replacing.
(It opens at a hotter temp now).
i do not think it is overheating, no physical signs, other than the gauge indicate overheating. and it's highly inconsistant. sometimes it will be while cruising on highway, other will be while sitting in traffic in town. Sometimes the gauge indicated right between hot and cold, others it indicates HOTHOTHOT. in case ya'lls gauge doesn't have HOTHOTHOT on it, it's slightly above the H.
Best thing to do would be to put an aftermarket gauge on to test to see if it truly is getting hot like that. It could be as mentioned, a sticking thermostat. It could also be a faulty sender... As to the heater valve, it should be in one of the heater hoses.
