87 mazda V8 swap

I have a 87 mazda b2200. I have a 305 i want to put in. How hard is it to put in the motor mounts and does the firewall and fender walls need to be cut? What other problems should I run into?

ur gonna have lots of troubles. electrical is where your going to run into the most problems. you can make the engine a carb motor but its still going to be a bear

Yeah...302 swap is easy. 305 would obviously be different though. Just start measuring. See where it will (and won't) fit. Modify as necessary. You'll have to procure some mounts, the computer to run the 305, a suitable transmission, new radiator, may have to relocate the oil filter, stuff like that.

Putting in motor mounts are fairly easy if you have them. You'll have to measure the firewall and fenders to see if anything needs to be cut or beaten into shape. You'll probably have to notch the heater box as well.

302 is an easy swap into the Ranger, and the Mazdas that are Ranger clones. That didn't start until '93, though, so I don't think it's that easy for an '87 Mazda.
