I'm trying to source a glow plug module for my '83 Ranger w/2.2L Perkins diesel, if you guys have one, know of one, come across one, etc. would you mind shooting me off a PM? it would be much appreciated.
I currently have a momentary switch wired up to heat the gp's, but would like to revert back to the factory gp controller if i can source one.
It's located inside the cab, behind the passanger side kick panel (pic below) it was used on '83-'84 diesel Rangers, the '79-'84 Mazda b2200's shared the same Perkins built diesel and gp system, the '85-'87 diesel Rangers used a 2.3L Mitsubishi turbo diesel and had a different gp system (to best of my knowledge anyway) so that gp module will not work.
Been a while since I've had my Diesel Ranger..but have you tried rockauto? I know I have saw one for sale somewhere..I just cannot remember. Try the Mazda diesel forum (if you havent already) mazda diesel - Home

Good point, Caterpillar did buy out Perkins in the late 90's.
All I can say is I think you are correct about the module for the later 2.3 being different.
If i remember correctly you were the one who told me that (about a year ago in another thread) and everything i've found online points in the direction of the 2.3L using a different gp system, so i think you're correct about that.
