ok got into it today....pulled off the driverside valve cover...no chaffing of the wires at all...the plug was a tad crooked so i did the quarter trick to lock the clip better....pushed in some dioelectric grease into the main harness plug before i put it together....started it up ...scanned for codes....same thing...p-1316...injector driver module codes detected....did the buzz test...failed error unkown...ran the cylinder test...code 0284...cylinder 8 injector circuit contribution/balance fault.....so the end result after all that...back to square one right where i started...so the next step i guess is to unplug the injector driver module and see what the end of the plug looks like....maybe corrision...then am i replacing the module next??...where do i buy one of them and how much are they??
During the buzz test how did the number 8 injector sound. Did it sound as loud and crisp as the rest of the injectors? Was it kind of muffled and weak?
the 1316 doesnt mean you have a bad IDM. It means that the IDM has stored injector fault codes. you may be chasing a bad #8 injector.
during the buzz test i didnt hear anything....is there any info on changing the injector.....or better yet is there somewhere i could buy a manual for this truck
The injectors themselves. you will perform a buzz test with the engine off, key on. leave your hood open, and you will hear the injectors literally buzz in order. they should all have the same sound. make sure you count while its happening so youll know which # if you hear an off sound.
wow cool...i was doing it with the engine running.....no wonder i didnt hear anything...i will let you know.........man the price of injectors is nuts.....if i had to buy one where should i go ?
