Installing D3TZ8146C Shround ?

OK I received the shround but it looks like it is backwards to me. My 352 in my 66 is off center toward the passenger side, If I put what looks like the top ( tapered ) to the top it is backwards to my Radiator. If I put it in what looks like the bottom upside down it looks like it will fit, but the top ,( if it is the top ) looks funky ?does any one have a pic of what it should look like ?? or could maby try to describe it in words ???I Sure would like to get this figured out. Thanks - Jav

Jav, Bill can better answer part number issues, but from what you have posted (DT3) is a 73 part, and they are different from the 66. The bottom bolt holes are located the same but they are made to fit to very different looking trucks. While the shroud holds the radiator and that should be pretty close it also holds the fenders. Fender shapes are very different.

Ford replaced C8TZ-8146-K (marked: C8TA-S) with D3TZ-8146-C in 1973.

It fits 1967/76 F100/350's with FE engines (and 240/300 I-6's / 302's) except with the Super Cooling radiator.

This shroud is a bolt on for my 1965 F100 2WD, not one modification was needed.

During a frame off restoration (1981/83), I went thru dozens of fan shrouds at the dealer I was working at (Crenshaw Motors Ford), till I found one that'll work on 1961/66's.

I prolly sold over 500 of these shrouds to ppl, not one came back.

Several ppl here have installed these fan shrouds on their 1961/66's without difficulty.

Which way does it fit...

The Ford ID number (D3TA-CA) is molded into the shroud at the upper left hand corner.

Unless someone is using a non original aftermarket radiator, the shroud should fit just fine.

The upper left hand corner thingy was the key. The funky side is the one that goes up. I say funky cause it looks like someone took a hand grinder to it to take the molding flanges off it. The large indentation molded in goes to the lower radiator hose. Illl trial fit it Then pull it and dress and paint it befor I use it. The finnishing work from ford is pretty bad. but it was cheep and if it does the job well worth it. Thanks Guys, another problem solved
