trailer lights

ok so a friend give me a 3 light bar (came off a dually)( goes above tag) and i was gonna put it on tomorrow. now just a min ago i went out and looked under and on my towing package i got the regular plug deal..s. and then i got like 5 or 6 wires taped together with a white sticker that says stuff like trailor brakes, right brake, left brake, and stuff. THEN theres one lone white wire that is joined to a green wire about 5 inches long which is plugged into a connector! sorry if its too much but i was wonderin if that 1 lone white wire is a ground? and if i could tap into those 5 or 6 that arn't hooked to anything oh i think if im not wrong they run up to the driver side of engine compartment.. whew that a bunch of stuff aint it... well my bad but i would appreciate some help

The white wire is usually the ground. The wires in the 6 way bundle probably won't work unless you have the relays installed under the hood. The trailer tow package comes with a pigtail for a brake box and the 2 relays that need to be installed under the hood to activate the wiring.

A test light would tell you for sure. The yellow & green wires are the turn signals, the white a ground, and the brown the running lights. The turn and running lights together make up the brake signal.

so plugging into the runnning lights would give power as long as lights are on correct. and i got the bundle for under the hood just not hooked up yet

Yes the brown will give you light whenever your headlights or running lights are on. You also need a ground to complete the circuit.

As I was saying, spend a minute with a test light and you'll be good to go.
