What's Causing This??????????????

About 6 months ago I was on a golfing trip to Arizona, lightly loaded and my F350 dually is running sooo goood, all of a sudden on a slight hill it feels like it's missing and I hear a popping noise. If I push it to the floor and down shift or let off, it runs O.K. It only did this for a couple days and been running fine ever since until today when I was returning from Lone Pine, Calif dragging my boat, jetski, and everything else my wife could fit in. I stopped to fill up and when I merged on to 395 south, I got on it to merge with traffic and it started this same d__ thing again. Anybody have an idea what could cause this?????????

mine did the same thing as the EGR valve was going out...try unplugging it the next time this occurs...

if that relieves the problem, you can pull the valve and clean it, or get a new one to replace it..

I had the same thing happen when towing in the mountains. I unplugged the egr valve and it ran fine. I have since cleaned the egr valve and plugged it back in. No problems yet, but I haven't been towing.
