My name is James, 21 yr old from PA. Just recently bought a 95 F250 w/ a 351W. I have to say im pretty impress with it. Couldnt pass it up since it has 66k and got it for one heck of a price. This is my first Ford and I'm using it for my lawn/landscaping business. Some of you guys will probably hate me since im a die-hard Mopar guy. Here is the truck:
Thanks. At the time, I didn't find any Ram that was cheap and has low milage in decent condition.
Yea, its going to be used for my business. I already change the oil filter, oil, air filter (K&N), new wires and spark plugs (NGK V-Power). I will be soon changing the axle fluids. Oil was black, blackist I ever seen. I was supprised it didn't smoke.
Too much oil will foul the MAF sensor. So do not over do it.
The gains in MPG and power are not as good as hyped up to be.
A clean OEM air filter is about as good as it can get, plus more airflow will cause the computer to call for more fuel and lessen the engines efficiency in the MPG area. (slight changes not drastic)
I just have stock equipment on the truck. So I don't think it'll be that bad. I filled the truck up and went 34 miles today and im still at full. I wasn't towing anything though. Before I changed the oil, wires, spark plugs and air filter, I went 50 miles and was down a 1/4 a tank. So I think it did improve a bit. What else should I look out for? Thanks for your help Darren!
BTW: I have never seen so much emission crap on a vehicle before. Anybody can send me a pic of there engine bay (95 f250 351W) as I have a few hoses missing and the diagram is confusing as heck. Thanks!
