Which one is better? I have a chance at buying a 650 double pumper but don't know what the advantages are with the double pumper. Do the secondaries have to open at the same time as the primaries? Or are they adjustable? I know my gas milage will change. Any help or advice is helpful. Oh yeah I have a 351W if that helps.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 23-Jan-02 AT 07:53 PM (EST)] MY opinion: I think the 4160 would be easier to live with. If you want more umph try changing spring in sec diaphram to let sec. come open quicker, try different cam profiles on accerator pump for mor squirt, change squirt nozzel. You can also chg sec. metering block. almost forgot the power valve can be chgd tocome open at lower vacc pull or even a two stage pv fo a blend of some xtra power and economy. I like to keep the hassel to a minimum.

PS. FORD used only a 520 4160 on 76 390 250 307 dana 60 camper spcland I used to haul 12' camper 11550 total wt & it had plenty of muscel.
Thanks Caddy. I know all about the spring swaps, 50cc acelerator pump changes, cam changes and so on. I was looking to see what the pro's and con's of the 4150 are. One of my friends is getting stationed over seas and is wanting to sell his 650 double pumper for $25.00 to me. He doesn't want it to sit for a year and it is too small for his intentions of running a 400 shot of nitrous in his mustang. He wants a 1050 or higher. I guess he loves doing wheel stands in his car. So I guess it's one of those his loss my gain things.
For $25 you can't lose, give it a try, if you don't like it you could sell it one ebay and probably get $100 for it. As far as using a double pumper on a truck, i've heard they don't work well on truck engines but i have no idea why.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 30-Jan-02 AT 12:00 PM (EST)]Well I got the Carb. It is a Vac sec 600 cfm single pumper. The guy doesn't have much experiance with carbs. The list # on it is 80145. Has the metering block on the secondary side. So I can adjust the fuel jets unlike my other carb. I will check it out more this weekend. I am going to put it on after I change out the tranfer tube o-ring. I pulled it apart to see how bad it was. I found the accel pump diaphram was dry rotted, sec. bowl needle and seat was grooved, and the teflon bearings in the base were fubar. Needle and seat are easy along with the accell. pump diaphram. I am going to change the base plate so I will be able to use my vac advance again.
