i have a two barrell carb it has a tag but i don't know what it is or what it is off. I have replaced it with a Holley 600 double pumper, but have a 400 V-8 and thought maybe can ya'll help? Oh yeah i have a 1977 F-150 Super cab lwb W/460 cid C-6 tranney and a Ford 9in rear end
I don't really know what you're asking; your post is not very clear. Which engine are you talking about? Are you asking what the carburetor is from? Without the tag, it's anybody's guess. If this is a Motorcraft 2 barrel carburetor, then the venturi size (which should be stamped on the side) can give some clues as to the size engine it would have gone with. That's about it. These carburetors were used everywhere.
Gotcha. That carburetor would have originally come from a 1974 truck. Maybe someone else can chime in with all the possible 2-barrel V8's that were available in 1974, or an exact decode of the part number. If I had to guess, I'd guess a 360, but who knows. A 400 didn't go in trucks in 1974, just passenger cars. 1977 was the first year that 400s were available in trucks.

Oh, I'm sure it will run ok. I was thinking along the lines that it wouldn't flow enough in the higher rpm's since it was originally set up for a 302. What are the numbers on the driver's side of the carb (ex 1.14, 1.21)?
sorry. I am a truck driver and am gone all through the week. and since this carb is a spare it gets forgotten. But I did try and look, but couldn't find anything yet. will look later today
