7.3 guy has 6.0 question regarding p0404 code
My buddy has an '07 F350 xlt 4x4 with 45K or so miles. He was running between Baltimore and D.C. today and noticed that the truck was running strangely. It lacked a bit of power was making white smoke and sometimes black smoke. He described the throttle as spongy, etc. but no check engine light in fact, no idiot lights at all. He had a friend check codes and it was a p0404. I know what it stands for and I know that the 6.0's are known for EGR issues. I have read how to disconnect it, but will this fix the problem or just cover-up a symptom of another major issue?
