Lately I have been noticing a longer than normal crank time when the truck is cold. THe weather is about 40-50 degrees outside. Normal crank time I would guess to be 2-4 seconds and this would be about 10-15 maybe even a little more a couple of times. Looking for suggestions on what to check, I am thinking maybe the glow plug relay module located on the passenger valve cover. Could it be a glow plug? The truck is in my sig below, thanks in advance for any help, Aaron
My 05 F250 was doing that last year. My dealer reflashed it and I have had no more problems. With the new flash, the injectors cycle for 30 seconds after switching the engine off. If yours does not cycle, you can definately hear it, you may need reflashed.
To Caycabugs,
You do not have the latest flash. The latest is the induction flash and it also varies the turbo and shuts down the egr during extended idling.
I just bought my 06 f250. It had a bad injector and I had it fixed. It still takes quite a while to fire up. It cranks fine, just takes a while to start. I live in central Ca. so the climate is not the issue.

EDIT - 69CJ has this covered (I missed it in the first pass).
The new flashes are GREAT in my opinion. My mileage improved as far as I can tell. The only thing I have not heard is whether or not the 03's lose power from the flash. This was a definite complaint from previous flash updates.
Oct 07 flash probably included the Inductive Heating. If it didn't, you would hear the "buzz" of the injectors cycling (per caycebugs post) from the previous version flash.
