Post Help!

I have an '87 F-250 that I'm doing a top end overhaul on. I found a set of E7TE heads with low milage since rebuilding. I went ahead and bought them because I got them cheaper than it would have cost to re-do mine and thats the casting that should have been there. Now that I got it apart, I find that I have a E4AE block and E5AE heads. Looks like a previous owner swaped out the engine with an '84. From what I can find on the internet, it looks like these heads belong with the block and they have a 67.5 cc combustion chamber. I get conflicting information on the volume of the E7TE heads, depending on where I look. My question is, can anyone tell me for sure what the combustion chamber volume is for E7TE heads, and can I use these heads on my E4AE block without causing problems with the compression ratio.

Thanks a lot,
Frank

ps. Dished pistons.

Help!

Just go the whole number off the block. E4AE-6015-FA 22, under that, 6K30. Does the F mean full size car? If the engine is from a car, does that mean it would have a different cam than for a truck application? Do I need to get a different cam now too?

Thanks,
Frank

Help!

ok on the site I have in my favorites it lists your 351W engine block being used from 80-91. You can look at www.cehighperformance.com to see for your self. Look under the used parts link in the text. Then click on "ford car". Hope this helps some.

Help!

I haven't a clue about the numbers thing, but somebody caught me on assuming the casting number corresponded to the year. I guess the casting number is just that, a casting revision that lasted for a long time. And with your heads, if they look close to being the same dimensions as far as chamber size, I wouldn't worry about it. I wouldn't worry about the camshaft either. I doubt you could ever tell the difference, if there is one.
