What gears do you have? What transmission? Any mods to the motor?

Belive it or not that is about right on the money. I get about 11 mpg. I only have an intake, carb, and ignition that is aftermarket. A few of my friends get roughly the same milage. Some only get 8 mpg. But what do you expect with a Holley 750 and a Edelbrock Jr. intake and so on.

I have a 84 van with a 302. The motor is bored 40 over. It's got dished pistons in it, stock heads, a holley intake with 1 inch torque spacer. And an Elderbrock 600 with electric choke. It also has mustang shorty headers and true dual eghaust. It has a C6 tranny. It gets 17 miles per gallon on the highway.

gas mileage for 302

hey,
i honestly do not know what transmission i have, its an automatic with 1 2 and drive, no overdrive. 10-12 is my highway and town mileage, i havent ever had it change. i don't know what geras i have either. no engine mods, just replaced plugs, air filter and etc, all with stock parts. i've got dual exhaust, which i am replacing this spring, its got several holes and is rusted out for the most part. thanks for all the input!

gas mileage for 302

Mike, I had the same problem in my '83 f-150 4x4. I got 10 miles to the gallon no matter how easy I drove it. My exhaust was shot, too. I had the cat replaced along with the muffler because it was "stopped up" and my mileage jumped to 12 mpg! That's still running it through single stock exhaust! I imagine yours would go higher since it's two-wheel drive. Try that and good luck!

thanks for the ideas, i hope the new exhaust helps a little, do those K&N hi preformance filters really do all they say they will? like the change in gas mileage and horsepower?
