hey
i have a 1979 F-100 Custom cab (2wd) with a 302, and i don't know which transmission i have, im assuming either a C4 or a C6, but i really have no clue, is there anywhere i can look on the body to find this information? does it say on the transmission case?

Mike, a C4 would have come behind your engine from the factory. The C4 has a bolt on bell whereas the C6 is one piece bell & body.

In the cool still quiet of night, you can hear chevies rusting away.
I have a 78 F100 that was factory equipped with a C6, 302 2WD. I sent all my warranty plate info to FoMoCo and got a letter back confirming all equipment that it rolled out of Michigan Truck Plant with.
