need help w/302 id
this engine has been in the family for longer than i can remember my grandfather put it in his 60 f100. I recently took it out of the truck and put it in my ranchero. No one in the family knows what car or truck he origianally took it out of, and he passed 2 years ago. The best i can figure it came from his old 68-69 mercury. But i really just want to know what year it is for sure, and possibly what kind of car it came from. the numbers are as follows
D20E 6015 AB(the 1 kinda looks like a T, i dont know if there was a T)
3A25
If you can help it would be greatly appreciated, ive seen alot of id ing on the site, but i still dont know what the 6015 the AB or the 3A25 is. All i can tell about the D20E is its between 69-76.

The D20E means its around a 1972 block. The 6015 is a number given to (just about all) 302 blocks, its just the casting number i think, the 3A25 means it was made in 1973 (assuming 70's is the decade) on january 25th.
I think the AB is the change number. first change is A second b third c and then they start doubling the letters up
