On rear of pass. side head there is a plug that has a oring on. It it a tight fit but look up from bottom and you will more than likely see it. You remove this plug with a 3/8 rachet.
Check the split line at the base of the turbo. Those o-rings can leak. Also look closely at the control rod for the exhaust backpressure valve, it is very common for that to leak.
Along the inside of both heads are boss plugs installed in the oil galley.....any one of those plugs could be leaking around the o-rings.
Check the lines from the high pressure oil pump to the heads...same story if there is a pinhole there. Also check the high pressure pump itself, there is a machine plug in the HPOP body that is a known leaker on occasion.
Leaks often occur at the pump discharge fitting, pump end plug, and where the high pressure lines connect to the heads. Because there is an oil drain hole machined into the engine's valley oil leaks from these areas will cause oil to run down the back of the engine and make it look like you have an oil pan or rear main seal leak.
I was just about to post about a similar problem. I have on two or three occasions had a no start problem that ended up being a dry HPOP. I've been meaning to check the check valve like AMiller told me months ago, but haven't gotten around to it. Today after being home for about a half an hour, I looked out to see an 8" round puddle of oil under the truck. I cleaned all of the oil out of the valley and ran the engine for a while to try to narrow down the problem. I did the turbo pedestal o rings last year, and the SS crossover line isn't leaking, so now I have it narrowed down to something up front, as that little dip in the valley up front is filling up with oil. Being Saturday and getting parts being an issue, where should I start?
After looking agin, with the motor running, I can see oil start to flow from underneath the fuel bowl but I can't see or even get my hand back in there to see what's up. Any Ideas?

1. IPR O rings
2. Cracked HPOP
3. Blown O ring on "do not remove plug" on HPOP
4. Blown O ring on oil feed line(s)
bow4elk u sure that you dont have a fuel leak instead of oil if its in the valley its also very common to have your fuel bowl drain valve o-rings leak i would make sure its oil .
