2005 rear bumper removal
I got hit in the rear bumper the other day, the insurance company gave me a check for $650 to replace it. I want to go to the junk yard and pick one up. I crawled under the truck to see what there was to removing the bumper. I have the factory trailer hitch on mine, and it doesn't look like it's going to be that easy. Anyone taken a rear bumper off a 2005 f150 and could give me some instructions?

its not hard to remove ...take down the spare tire and you can see all 8 bolts ...make sure you discont the hitch and plate light before you drop he bumper...and its got so weight to it so u might need a hand to drop it so u won't damage the truck
i too just got rear ended last week and i started fixing my truck at work but i also had to fix the tailgate and bedside

I took a good look today, it won't be to tough. My jack stands will go high enough, I will make a couple wooden pads to put on top of 2 of them and put one at each end. then put my hitch on and put another jack stand there. and strap the bumper tight to all 3. That way it won't tip, piece of cake.
