Bumper removal
How hard is the front and rear bumper of an 06 to remove? I going in Thursday to get the bumpers line x'd and I need to take them off. They said $75 a bumper I hope that a good price. So any tips to make the removal easier? Also do the rear backup sensors just pop out? Thanks in advance

Not sure about an 06 but my 04 was pretty easy. Just 4 bolts up front where the tow hooks mount and I cant remember how many in the rear but it's pretty straight forward. Getting all the plastic/brackets off was more of a PITA.
$75 a bumper is a really good deal. I paid $275 to have both of mine done. Are your bumpers painted or chrome? They said it took forever to get the chrome roughed up enough for the Line-X to stick which is why it cost so much. If I would have known I probably would have done the prep work myself.

Riggz the bumpers are chrome but the front bumper the top half is plastic. They said they could do it so I'll find out Thursday. I just have to take them off. How has the line x held up and the color also? Here's a pic of my front bumper

Nice looking truck. Are those the Rockstar wheels?
Are they going to line-x the plastic or just the chrome? Also are they going to spray both outside and inside? This would be a good idea as it will prevent rusting and any possible peeling.
Mine is still holding up well. Color is just a bit faded but not too bad. Still looks good to me.

Yeah they are the Rockstar wheels. I had to cut the center cap legs down an inch to make them look better. They stuck out way to far. As far as the bumpers I'm gonna have them paint the chrome and plastic inside and out. What do you think?

6 bolts in the front. 2 by each tow hook and one in the wheel well for the side brace. Slide it out, unplug fogs, etc.. and remove.
Rear bumper is 4 bolts. Remove the nuts and then knock the plate that the bolts are welded to out of the frame rail. Take out tag lights.
You can remove them both in the matter of minutes....helps if you have someone to hold them as you remove the bolts.

So the bumpers and grille are off and getting sprayed right now. I got a good deal I believe $190 for both bumpers and the grille. But I have a problem now. When I removed the wire loom for the foglights and the backup sensors I broke most of the tab or push fasteners or whatever they are called off. Does anyone know where I can purchase these other than the dealer? Here are a couple pics. Thanks

Thanks Ed for the help. I ordered 10 of them since they all broke. .60 each
I also had to order 2 of the 14A163J but the were 5.98 each. Thats an expensive piece of plastic. O well thanks for the help. I'll post pics tonight if I get them on but its looking like tommorrow.

nah, it's ok. Shipping would have killed any value save buying from me on this one, but it never hurts to check with me. When it makes sense to deal with me we'll do it, when it doesn't I'll let you know.
