OK, i got a 2000 4.2, 4x4, single cab, shortbed, auto
i read that the 4.2 has 205 hp and 255 torque
i also read that the 4.6 has 220 hp and 290 torque
I am young but i know my engines and i can do my own work, so everything i list i am planning to install i have to worry about school too... Everything (including exhaust) can be done by me, but i wondering how hard it would be to get those headers on.
(i have a lift to get under the truck easily)
would the following mods give me that extra torque i want, cause i really don't wanna get stuck? And i am not going to buy the supercharger for the 4.2 either $3500 (or shoul i have said yet?)
Superchip + Programmer
AirForce 1 FIPK
Spacer
Headers
HighFlow single exhaust
Jacobs Ignition Upgrade
Upgrade the MAF
(have new gears installed)
Everything sounds good except the spacer and MAF. Some people have actually lost power with the spacers, but maybe they work on the 4.2's,not sure. The bigger MAF may not gain more than a few HP,unless you have a supercharger or other major breathing mods. Good luck on the mods,,,,98
