Thanks for the pics Brandon!!! I think I'll go over in the corner and cry now!
I can just here him now "HAHAHA look at Nolan over there in cali. Even if he wanted to make the journey he couldn't!!!!"
J/k glad to here yall had a good time! If anyone on this side of the U.S cares to try and organize something I would be more then willing to help! Perhaps a "Smokin in the Sand"? Maybe in the dessert or we could go find some dunes out in BFE?
You guys better not forget about us way down here. Heck, I am mid way and all the way down. How about SMOKIN WITH THE GATORS?
Yeah, it was quite embarrasing. I am glad that most of the people at smokin' had already left the campsite for the Drag strip. Jeremy came running over with his camera but I, with the help of a few others, had already begun to get it off of the rock. The noise it made was horrendous. I caught the running board up and luckily nothing bent. The noise sounded like I had gotten the front section of the bed. It made me sick to my stomach I can tell you that much.
Oh yeah I wasn't going to let that one hang out there. It would have been better if you didn't have the serious trouble that you did. If your truck was still running mine would have been the worse thing of the whole weekend.
Kris, you were there, unless you had already left for the dragstrip. It was right after we lined up for the pic of all of our trucks and he somehow managed to high center his truck on a rock by where we were lined up.
WTF Jason, heck i didn't even know you got stuck on a rock? Dang if i WAS there, heh i'd take at least one picture! Tell me what happened?
Yeah, there was a set of relatively large rocks (maybe 2 1/2 feet tall) between my truck and the ruck to my right. When we were done with the pictures. I pulled straight ahead a little and cut to my right, thinking I had cleared them, but they were at the middle of my running board and it made a horrendous crinkling, grinding metal sound. The rock wedged under the running board just enough to barely lift the front wheel a tiny bit. Some of the guys that were hanging out by the Dyno came running over and I got out to look at what I was sure to be a bunch of dented metal.. I tried to back off the rock, but I was high centered like Jeremy said.
One of the guys with the dieselgarage.com group went and grabbed a smaller wedge shaped rock and put it under my front tire and I used it to ramp the front tire up enough to get off the rock. I haven't gotten under it to look and see if it did any damage to the underside of the running board, but looking at the truck as it sits, there is no apparent damage to the truck, thank goodness. And as you saw, it ran pretty well at the drag strip.
