In order to get more towing and passing power out of my '93 5.0L EFI, I've decided that maybe a stroker kit would be my best bet. (Bump it up to 347 or so) What is a safe maximum oversize for that engine? (If I do it at all). Any potential computer problems? (not going to touch the cam)
More stroke... More torque, right?
With the 347 stroker you will end up machining the block to clear the crank. Look up a couple articles on www.customclassictrucks.com They mention a few things to concider before doing a stroker.
Consider 331. Ask around I am pretty sure it doesn't require as much machine work as 347 and will improve the life of the engine a lot longer than 347.
