Dave- we got your point and I for one understand your discust. Your not listening to Bob, he's not talking about your frustration or discust with society issues, he's merely stating this forum is not the appropriate place to debate the issues. OK, guess I'll stick with the questions posts, I'm detecting a real bias here- my dad was a mechanic too so maybe I'm an oddball (first car I learned on was a 63 dart, could fix everything in that) but, (batting my eyelashes here) I AM a wife! I spent $11,000.00 so far on my 51F1 it's my daily driver now for the last 4 years. The new bed and running boards alone cost around $3,000.00. I imagine to complete it would cost me another $10,000.00.

Simple formula to figure out what it will cost, and how long it will take, to finish your truck, it will take a little algebra:
Your estimate of cost to complete project= C
Your estimate of time it will take to complete the project=T
C X 2= actual cost(AC)
T X 3= actual time (AT)
If you have a young family multiply AT by 2.
Multiply AC by 1.5 because by the time you have the money cost of parts will go up 50%.

I have a little less than $20K in our 60, not including the time, tools and frosties they don't count!
Hours of garage time with my teenage son who didn't know which end of the screwdriver went in the slot before we started and now fixes all his buddies cars..........PRICELESS!
