I have a 67 f100 with a 1975 351w in it. The guy that put the motor in it had to beat the back 2 cylinders on the header down because of clearance problems with the steering box (drivers side). Ive talked with the techlines at dynomax, headman, hooker, and sanderson headers and none of them have an application for my combo. I was also told that a 351w block is wider than a 302 that came stock in the 70-72 f100. any help would be greatly appreciated!
You can buy the truck headers from Summit. All you need is the size of the exhaust ports. They look similiar to the old cast iron manifolds but have much better flow. Also they point down under the #8 cylinder. Would this help?
The Summit full-length headers (for 69-79 F100 302 2WD) will fit but it will be very tight -- on the drivers side they will be right against the steering box, and on the passenger side the collector flange will come very close to the block flange. A little dimpling on the tube against the steering box will make things liveable.
