Valve Problem
How can i tell if i have valve problems. My "exhaust leak" sounds like it might be coming from under the vavle covers. could the after market covers be small. How hard is it to get the vavles fixed?

Ok, after some more reading here. The knocking doesn't seem to be coming from any particular valve. It is on both sides of the engine. It gets louder as it gets warm, that's what made me thing exhaust leak. It did not miss on Sunday when I put it in, but it has started to miss now and that is when the knock on both sides started. I'm getting new plugs tonight. I would have put them in this weekend, but here in podunk, nothing is open on suday. The motor was sitting for a few months.

No vac gauge. The motor sat in a garge for one month, and covered outside for another. Then i put it in my truck with new gas.
Read here, it sounds like it might be a lube problem. Some say use ATF in gas or lead additive. It starts after it warms up. nothing cold. tonight i will try pulling the vacum line and pluging it.
