Buddy calls me up, got stuck out by the lake, its had been raining for probably 40hrs non stop lots of mud and water everywhere.
So i figure out where he was and started heading up the trail, which is more like a roaring creek, cant see trail to well but trees on both sides point me in right direction, im goin maybe 10 mph and i drop off into a deep hole, i power out of it and stop call buddy and he says hes out there in a stock 4wd nissan. Ok kinda hard to see stock nissan making it through previous hole. Then he warns be about the hole. Yea thanks after ive alread been through it. So i keep goin, takes me about an hour to get to him. I pull him and 2 other people he had with him out. Being smart i stayed on the "high ground" and used a long chain! So were all headed back out and i told them to flash there lights so i would know when this "hole" was comin up, alright procede back out to road, going slowly when i think im coming up to said hole. Bam drop back off into it, powered out again, then see flashin lights ahh LATE REACTION GUYS! so i chug along about another 3 feet and bang my truck dies.
Doesnt start, so i call a friend of mine and he comes and pulls me out, big @SS dodge diesel, get home, busted 2 wrist pins, just being a nice friend! AHHHH,
Worst part, said friend didnt even offer to help work on truck! LAME!
I've heard and been in to many situations where a 'friend' gets stuck and calls you to pull you out, and something bad happens, and they don't offer to help out with anything...
Cops come, get some tickets, you break something, you use a chit load of gas getting to them, pop a strap, you get them out, but get stuck worst and have to call a tow truck, or something along the lines.
For this reason, I turn off my phone so I do get a call to go in said situation at 3:00 in the morning.
I've got a couple stories, but I'll figure out which ones I want to post tomorrow.
i was out wheeling one day with one of my friends with a 1985 jeep cj with 6in lift and swampers ect.... he was following me and i dropped into this hole and got stuck. my truck(ESOF POS!!!!) would not engage into 4x4! Forward and reverse the truck wouldnt budge. My friends jeep couldnt pull me out either. Aout an hour later two of my other friends came out( 1979 f250 6suspenion 3 in body and another jeep cherokee pracically stock) and neither of them could pull me out. Eventually we hooked up the cj and the f250 and they were able to get me out. truck still wouldnt go into 4x4 so i drove it back to my friends shop and we checked the POS autolocking hubs and found one froze locke and one frove free and that i had snapped my pasenger side axle!!!!
we replaced the axle and put in some warn hubs and i havnt had any problems since...
Been stuck god knows how many times, but this is the only one I can find a pic from. That clay that it's in is like wet playdoh. It just smooshes and creates a suction on the bottom.
Couldn't get it out with a 4wd f150 that was on dry ground, took a cat bulldozer to pull it out.
the result of a pull from a CAT:
that wasn't from a yank, it was just a steady pull, and that tube on that old hitch was THICK.
I also got a cracked exhaust port on the rear driverside cylinder from the header resting on the ground and holding the bronco up.
