How rare was the clock in the dash is it worth any thing? I have one it is the first one I have seen. But when I got the truck it was disconnected cause it drains the battery if you don't seem to run the truck every other day. Why is this cause the mount of draw to operate? That is my guess
AFAIK the only clock that was available in the dash was included in digital AM radio. If you had a seperate clock it was an add on by a previous owner. Pics would help.
yeah it is rectangle next to the glove box! Ok not sure how to link my other pictures in here.
Also the clock plugs into the same conector as the glove box light! The trim on the glove box and all says Ranger does that help. It is a Ford clock had the same clock in my 74 Mustang just never saw it in a truck before.
Was not an add on it was factory!! Look in my gallery you can see it kind of not at home so can't take pics.
Were supposed to be able to see a clock in that picture?
I have personally never seen a factory clock offered on any 73-79 F-series from Ford. I am under the assumption with your description this is a stand alone clock that is mounted in the dash to the left of the glovebox? Post a better picture of it when you get home. Have you owned the truck since new? If not how do you know it was not an add on by a PO?
That looks like a modification by a previous owner. It might be a Ford clock, but not a factory truck clock - perhaps a car clock that was modified to fit into the truck. That is the spot for A\C vents; it wouldn't make sense for a factory clock to go there because then what would they do for a truck ordered with a "clock" and A/C? The only clock offered that I know of was part of a rare digital AM radio, like ranger429 said. My '79 has the original manual and it didn't say anything about it in the options. Not saying it's impossible, but I haven't heard of it. If NumberDummy sees this thread he'll know for sure.
Must have been the same ones like in the same era Granadas.
I never seen one in a truck, but the truck must have been a deluxe trim model for the dash to grace a clock!
Well this thing has all the lights in the glove box ash tray in the floor area and dome light and rear cargo lamp and clearance lights it seemed to have every thing offered except A/C I bought all the accesory lights and then found it had all this stuff already there but disconected by PO. I have had this truck like six months I'm the fourth owner. And it has the high out put heater as well. I was told it was originally ordered for a logging company near Pitsburgh PA
This is interesting.....I have never heard or seen one. Does sound kinda strange that a PO would go to the trouble of modifying the dash like that to install just a clock.
have a 78 with clock as feature on digital am/fm radio....
the lack of a general (standalone) clock option on these trucks is rather surprising, given that clocks had been pretty common on cars for decades, and pickups had already gained a load of available convenience options by 73....
