I don't have the box anymore. That guy on ebay probably has the part number. Just ask him what the part number is for it and act like you already know what the number is and that you just want to make sure that he has what you want. You could also tell him that it retails for $20 to $25 and tell him that you'll give him that much for it.
Haha! i guess all of us ford peps think alike...thats exactly what i did!! I asked him and told him i was confirming if it was what i needed. He said he was gonna check cause he didn't know. Also i told him how much it costs and that he was exaggerating on the cost. He said "bad luck chief...maybe next time...thanks for looking!"
No, the guy that was selling it just started being a dush bag and didnt help at all. Im really in a mess cause the guy at the dealership doesnt know what it is and i dont want to pay 50 bucks for it either. But you said if i use screws then they wont clear the panels when i push the dash back right?
like mesh thats used on stucco walls??? Did you use screws to get it in place or what? Basically what you did is use a metal screen then epoxy the whole thing to make a bracket right??? then bolted it on??? Thats creative, i didnt know thats was a possibility....you just opened a world of customization for me!
no screws, just put some epoxy down, put precut screen in that, put more epoxy over that, let it dry for a couple of hours , then put one more coat of epoxy.
so you went ahead and made the bracket attached to the dash already? how did you make it line up with the mounting hole? Was it difficult at all? Is epoxy hard to work with? Sounds like the better option if i can do it right.
hehe, sorry but im lost...ok so you dont try to mimic the style of bracket that ford sells right? All you do is epoxy from the mounting screw to the dash but just were it broke? IS that enough contact with the dash to keep it secure?? Oh and ive used epoxy before to repair a gas tank and i mixed it with my bare hands....oops! Nothing has fallen off yet so i think im good.
Epoxy the broken tab(where bolt goes through and attaches to body) to the dash. You are just repairing the broken piece and strengthening it in the process by using wire mesh.
Use this part number at your Ford dealer.(f4tz-1504366-a).
MSRP is $18.27
