I have a 2000 F250 SDCC4X4 When towing a trailer I periodically will get a vibration the runs through the whole truck. Only happens when I hit a sharp bump in the road. The sometimes it will quit on its own most time I hit another bump and it stops. Pulling a 21" bassboat w/ tandem axel trailer, surge brakes. Have pulld over and checked all bearings and brakes and NO heat. Did check the rear in in the truck today and it was very warm to the touch. I'm pulling my hair out trying to find this problem. Anyone have a suggestion or further question on the situation?
Haven't noticed it with other trailers, but don't pull them very far. It started on the way home last week. Drove 250 miles there no problem 1/2 way back it started. Today went 100 miles no prob. 1/2 way back it started.
check tire pressure and all are right at max for the tires. Its almost like theres a switch that turns it on and off. Has to be a sharp hit like a transition on an overpass will start it then sometimes it stops on its own and sometimes I will hit another sharp gap and it will stop. This boat is not the heaviest I pull but it gets pulled 99.5% of the pulling this truck does. How warm should a rear end housing be after pulling for 100 miles?
